The Springfield Brewery war memorial honouring soldiers who lost their lives in both world wars will be at the centre of a Remembrance Service to be held on 11 November at 11.00am.

WWII Weekend

Saturday 9 & Sunday 10 November

A weekend of demonstrations and training activities from WWII military re-enactment group, MECO.

Meco will be staging a World War II home front weekend in the Museum’s traditional village, offering a fascinating insight into wartime Britain.

Find an array of displays and re-enacting scenarios populating the streets of the Museum with Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen Home on Leave visiting their civilian partners and family. Visit the Women Volunteer Service tea table for a chat about volunteering in the war, make sure you check in at the Home Guard road block and have a chat with the Guards about what it meant to serve during WWII.
