Library of Birmingham
Saturday 19th July @ 11:00am-3:00pm
Room 104, Library of Birmingham, Centenary Square, B1 2ND
Birmingham is a city comprised of an incredibly diverse range of communities, cultures and experiences.
The Birmingham Community Heritage Day is designed to raise awareness of the different historical experiences that have shaped the city, the different projects and activities on this and related themes, the groups working within the field, to draw attention to the skills and expertise can be shared; and importantly, to help us develop a sense of the city. The theme for this event is Images. The event will help in the following ways;
- Developing Heritage, History or Arts projects
- Finding Funding for Ideas
- How to work with the Library of Birmingham
- Working with People and Communities
Hear from artist and photographers Vanley Burke and Andrew Jackson; hear, too, about one of the Library’s important photographic collections. Community Groups, Histories and Projects represented include the Home Away from Home Project, and the LGBT Trust.
The event is £7.50 to attend and includes lunch!
