Moseley Society Local History Group

Illustrated Evening Talk
The University of Birmingham
Tuesday 20th January 2015 at 7.30 pm

Untitled1Speaker, Janet Sullivan, has just achieved her doctorate with a fascinating PhD full of amazing images and computer generated graphics and details about the lives of people in 19th Century Black Country and Oldbury. She will talk to us about the effects of pollution in the nineteenth century industrial town.  The emphasis will be on the Black Country as the amount of pollution it was enduring was the reason for the coining of its name.  The focus will be on Oldbury, as it provides a snapshot of the situation in the other Black Country towns and industrial towns in general.  The talk will be illustrated by a range of photographs. Janet is an excellent speaker and this will be a talk you will not want to miss.
