We are pleased to announce ‘Voices of War and Peace: the Great War and its legacy’, a new First World War Engagement Centre at the University of Birmingham funded by the AHRC and in partnership with the HLF. The University of Birmingham Centre is a joint initiative with Birmingham City University, Newman University, the University of Worcester and the University of Wolverhampton. The Engagement Centre, led by Professor Ian Grosvenor and based in the Library of Birmingham, will support a wide range of community engagement activities, connecting academic and public histories of the First World War as part of the commemoration of the War’s centenary which begins this year.
You are cordially invited to the launch of the Centre, which will be a joint event with Birmingham City Council as they also launch their programme of First World War commemorative events. The event will take place on March 21st from 12-2.30pm in the Studio Theatre, Library of Birmingham.
Please do forward to your networks. We would be grateful if those planning to attend could RSVP to Nicola Gauld, Centre Coordinator, by March 14th (firstname.lastname@example.org, 0121 464 3209).
