Women in the West Midlands: Places to Visit
Women have traditionally been hidden from history. Political, economic and cultural life have been seen as the province of men, whilst women have either been ignored or revealed as subjects in a male-dominated society. This magazine illuminates aspects of a neglected history through biographies, narratives and images to show that women were active agents in shaping the past.
The suggested places to visit depict women who left a lasting impact and demonstrate how they lived their lives spanning the last 400 years in and around the region:

- Lady Godiva in Coventry
- Blanche Mortimer's Tomb
- Sister Dora in Walsall

- George Marshall Medical Museum
- Shugborough Hall
- The Birmingham Back-to-Backs
